Winder
Taper Tension
Description

Taper Tension

Use this block to increase or decrease the tension as the roll builds in order to protect the product or ensure a stable finished roll.

The function block must be associated with a particular Diameter Calculator function block via a parameter setting.

It is important to observe the complete wind-up of a roll in order to determine if any tension tapering is appropriate.

A positive setpoint will cause the tension to decrease as the roll diameter increases. A negative setpoint causes tension to increase as the diameter increases.

Select linear or hyperbolic taper via a parameter setting.
