Encoder
ENC Position Point
Description The ENC Position Point function block is used to specify a point of travel to compare withthe 64-bit actual position count generated by the ENC# Position function block.

The ENC Position Point function block MUST be associated with an ENC# Position function block.

Availability
  • Available only in the dw2xx series products
  • Requires library: Encoder Control (option -11)
  • Requires: Single or Dual Encoder
  • Firmware versions 0x2008 and later

Graphic with Parameters encPosPoint

Parameters

ENC Position Internal Parameter, Read-write, Function Block Association (signed 16-bit integer)

The ENC Position parameter associates this function block with an ENC# Positionfunction block. If set to None, the smarty2 will report an AssociationWarning.
Set Input, Read-write, Boolean (signed 16-bit integer)

When the Set parameter is activated, the current 64-bit value in the associated ENC#Position function block is stored as the internal Setpoint in the ENC PositionPoint function block. This feature may be used to empirically set a position setpoint for theapplication.
0 = Inactive
1 = Set
Position Error Output, Read-only, Analog (signed 16-bit integer)
-327.67 % to 327.67 %

The Output is generated from the internal 64-bit Setpoint and is scaled by thePulses Per Revolution and Base Revs of the associated ENC Position functionblock as follows:

Output % = [Internal Setpoint / (4 * Pulses Per Revolution * Base Revs)] * 100

If the Output exceeds +/- 327.66%, the parameter will indicate overrange; however, the 64-bit internal Setpoint is unaffected.

-32767 = - overrange
32767 = + overrange
Position Point 0 Internal Parameter, Read-write, Hexadecimal (unsigned 16-bit integer)
0x0 to 0xFFFF

A 4-digit hexadecimal number associated with position dddd as shown below in the 64-bitENC Position Point's internal Setpoint as shown below:

0xaaaa 0xbbbb 0xcccc 0xdddd

The setpoint is in a 2's-complement format.

Position Point 1 Internal Parameter, Read-write, Hexadecimal (unsigned 16-bit integer)
0x0 to 0xFFFF

A 4-digit hexadecimal number associated with position cccc as shown below in the 64-bitENC Position Point's internal Setpoint as shown below:

0xaaaa 0xbbbb 0xcccc 0xdddd

The setpoint is in a 2's-complement format.

Position Point 2 Internal Parameter, Read-write, Hexadecimal (unsigned 16-bit integer)
0x0 to 0xFFFF

A 4-digit hexadecimal number associated with position bbbb as shown below in the 64-bitENC Position Point's internal Setpoint as shown below:

0xaaaa 0xbbbb 0xcccc 0xdddd

The setpoint is in a 2's-complement format.

Position Point 3 Internal Parameter, Read-write, Hexadecimal (unsigned 16-bit integer)
0x0 to 0xFFFF

A 4-digit hexadecimal number associated with position aaaa as shown below in the 64-bitENC Position Point's internal Setpoint as shown below:

0xaaaa 0xbbbb 0xcccc 0xdddd

The setpoint is in a 2's-complement format.
